La Traviata by Giuseppi Verdi Each year, the junior high presents an opera as part of our Opera Education Program. This production of Verdi's La Traviata was a special adaptation of the English text and music for our students. The major roles are sung by professional members of the San Francisco Opera community while the choruses are sung and the action pantomimed by students. A matinee and evening performance is enjoyed by all of our students, parents and friends. The crew is responsible for the lighting, props, and stage management.

At rehearsals, we work with the singers and musicians. All seventh and eighth grade students take part. When the opening performance comes, we are ready to tell the sad story of Violetta and Gaston.
